Each month, Shine On Automotive and 97.5 BOB FM recognize a veteran in our community through the Shine On Salute, honoring their service, story, and lifelong commitment to community and country.
Below is our current Shine On Salute honoree, followed by past recipients.

Jason Murray

This month, we honor Jason Murray, a Sterling native who enlisted in the Marines just four days after 9/11 at only 18 years old. While serving in Ramadi, Iraq, Jason was critically injured by an IED and is now totally blind — but his courage and determination never stopped.
Inspired by a Vietnam veteran who went to college using a tape recorder and braille typewriter, Jason earned a degree in psychology and now works with at‑risk middle school students, helping them find hope and direction.
Jason’s high school sweetheart, Kelsie, stood by his side through recovery, and today they’re raising three children together.
Jason’s strength, service, and heart embody what the Shine On Salute is all about.
