Shop-All in Yuma Helps Local Schools with the 'Register Tapes for Education' Program

Shopping local not only helps the local economy, but it can also help local schools. Shop-All Superfoods in Yuma is doing both as it participates in the ‘Register Tapes for Education’ program, which converts receipts collected in its store into points that are redeemable for supplies and equipment from the program’s catalog. How does the program work exactly? Shop-All’s General Manager & President, Butch Berry, breaks it down by answering some simple questions about how the program works. – (Answers next to *)

Does Shop-All donate money, or is it all from the receipts?
*The Receipts DETERMINE the amount of money Shop-all gives to the company, so the schools can buy the items they need. SO, the money is DONATED by Shop-all to each respective school, determined upon the receipt amount collected for that school.

Are the boxes from the schools placed out just one school at a time in the store?
*Yes, they are, and each gets as close as possible to the same amount of time during the school year, according to a schedule we set.

Are they just out between September 1st & March 31st?
*Yes, just during the School Year.

Shop-All has paid out over $26,000 to local schools since 2006, which include LITTLE INDIANS PRE-SCHOOL, MORRIS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, YUMA CHILDREN'S ACADEMY, YUMA HIGH SCHOOL, & YUMA MIDDLE SCHOOL, all in Yuma. There is also LIBERTY SCHOOL in Joes, ARICKAREE SCHOOL R-2 in Anton, LONE STAR SCHOOL, & the OTIS SCHOOL DISTRICT R3 in Otis. So, look for those boxes between September 1st & March 31st inside Shop-All at 315 East 8th Avenue in Yuma, and shop locally, while helping local schools. Check Shop-All’s website at shopallyuma.com.
