The North State project in Fort Morgan nearing an end.
The pedestrian tunnel is scheduled to be reopened after being closed for over a year.
The reopening of the tunnel leading from North State Street to Riverside Park is
expected to take place on Tuesday, December 2.
Residents using the tunnel to access Riverside Park from North State Street can now
enjoy improvements made to the sidewalk and the installation of LED lighting
throughout the tunnel.
The pedestrian tunnel was inaccessible due to the construction on the large housing
project that was supported by a $40 million investment by Cargill. The completed
housing development provides 108 new dwelling units of various types for its
employees and the community. The North State Project also encompassed
reconstruction of North State Street and other road improvements in the area.
