Sterling Athlete to Compete at National Collegiate Equestrian Championship

Shelby Robinette of Sterling will compete at the National Collegiate Equestrian Association National Championship as a senior member of Fresno State's Division 1 Equestrian Team.
Robinette, a Prarie High School graduate, is currently a senior member of on Fresno State's Division 1 Equestrian Team. The team is currently at Ocala, Florida for the National Collegiate Equestrian Association National Championship.
The Bulldogs enter the championship as the No. 8 seed with a 7-5 overall record and will face the nation’s top team in Auburn on Thursday. Fresno State has not faced Auburn since October 2022. The Bulldogs have not earned a win over Auburn since October 2016, winning 11-5 on a neutral site in Delaware when the War Eagles were the No. 1 ranked team.
That win marked the first time in program history that Fresno State defeated the nation’s top ranked team. The Bulldogs have done it twice in program history.
Robinette is one of four Bulldogs to earn All-American honors this season, the first in her career. She was an honorable mention All-American selection in the horsemanship and the reining and earned a spot on the All-Big 12 teams for her events.
In horsemanship, Robinette has an 8-4-0 record and in reining she is 8-3-1 and she has a combined two Most Outstanding Performing honors. She also repeated as the Big 12 Equestrian Scholar Athlete of the Year and was the Big 12 Reining Rider of the Month for March. Plus, she made the 2026 NCEA All Academic First Team.
The NCEA National Championship will be broadcast on ESPN+.
