At the July 14th Morgan County Board of County Commissioners meeting, all three commissioners were present.
Following a motion and full approval to move the Morgan County Fair Board presentation from the end of the meeting to the beginning, there was a special proclamation declaring Wednesday, July 29, 2026, as ‘Marlin Eisenach Day’ at the Morgan County Fair.
All three commissioners admitted to bringing in Marlin on ‘false pretenses’ because they wanted to surprise him with this honor.
The proclamation started by reading: WHEREAS Marlin Eisenach has faithfully served the citizens of Morgan County as the Morgan County Extension Agent for the past 38 years, dedicating his career to advancing education and youth development in agriculture.
The full-page proclamation went on to list all of his credentials and contributions, along with many examples of his dedication to agriculture and the everlasting impact on people of all ages in the communities of not only Morgan County but the State of Colorado.
Commissioners Jon Becker, Kelvin Bernhardt, and Tim Malone presented Marlin with a special commemorative ‘Hall of Fame’ jacket. Marlin thanked everyone in the room, from the CSU Extension Staff to the Fair Board Members, and all of the people he has worked with throughout his life. He said without all of them, he would not be here today.
After that, in the proper order, Mr. Eisenach made his Fair Board presentation to the commissioners, which was what he originally intended to do anyway. Marlin’s history with the fair started with his first exhibition in 1951.
This year, the Morgan County Fair is celebrating its 117th anniversary, and will be held from Friday, July 24, to Thursday, July 30, at the Brush Fairgrounds in Brush, Colorado.
