Brush PD –
On Monday, December 2nd, at 1pm, Investigator Price and Officer Dabbs were on duty, when they noticed a trailer being pulled by a blue Dodge pickup without any license plates. The officers decided to follow the vehicle, which accelerated once the officers got behind it. Due to the vehicles’ suspicious activity, Officer Wells was called for assistance, as the vehicle was stopped in the 900 block of Edison in Brush.
The 1 of the 2 parties inside the truck tried to provide a false name, but due to previous contacts it was determined that the 2 individuals were 45-year-old Ronald Schrum and 46-year-old John Delong. Since both parties have had a history of drug use, and due to the suspicious activity, K9 Officer Quick & K9 Ripp were called in from the Fort Morgan Police Department for assistance. K9 Ripp indicated the presence of drugs, with paraphernalia located inside, along with a fake Rockstar drink that contained 84 grams of suspect methamphetamine that tested positive for fentanyl. Other items found inside were a scale with residue, and a box of Ziploc bags that matched other bags that contained methamphetamine.
John Delong was placed into custody for a warrant, while suspected meth was found on his person. Ronald Schrum was arrested for drug possession with the intent to distribute. Both are being held without bond until advisement.
