New Computer 'Virus' Scan Going Around

There is a new “Tech Support Scam” going around currently. The scammer makes you believe that there is a serious problem with your computer, similar to a virus or malware. They claim they can fix it! - for the low price of gift cards or wiring money to another country. BE ALERT! They ask for these items because they’re nearly impossible to get back once sent (including their bank as they voluntarily sent the funds) No legitimate business that we know of demands payment for their services in the form of gift cards, so that’s your biggest red flag. The best advice with all scams is if you’re unsure, run the situation by a friend or family member and see what they think.
