Update: The Sterling Police Department has confirmed the identity of the victim in this investigation as Kyle Brandon Langley of Sterling, CO – 38 years of age.
As the investigation is ongoing, there will be no other information released. The Sterling Police Department thanks all our partners who have and continue to assist with the investigation.
Sterling, CO – Brandon Thomas Harriman, age 28, has been taken into custody today, June 17, 2025, in the 500 block of Jackson Street in Sterling, Colorado. Harriman was apprehended without incident through a coordinated effort between Sterling Police Officers and Deputies from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.
This arrest follows an intensive investigation into the fatal structure fire that occurred on June 12, 2025, in the 300 block of Weston Court. The incident, initially reported as a fire, was determined to be a homicide. Harriman was identified as the primary suspect, and a warrant was issued for his arrest on charges of First-Degree Murder and Arson.
The apprehension of Harriman is the result of dedicated teamwork and long hours by law enforcement officers and investigators. SPD would like to recognize the professionalism and commitment of everyone involved in bringing this suspect into custody.
This remains an active and ongoing investigation. SPD continues to work closely with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to pursue all additional leads. Authorities still believe this to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the public.
