Structure Fire and Death Investigation

Sterling, CO – At approximately 1:02 a.m. on June 12, 2025, officers from the Sterling Police Department, along with the Sterling Fire Department and the Logan County Sheriff's Office, responded to a reported structure fire in the 300 block of Weston Court in Sterling.

Upon arrival, First Responders found a trailer home fully engulfed in flames. While extinguishing the fire, a deceased person was discovered inside the residence.

The Sterling Police Department, with the assistance of the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and State Fire Investigators, is actively investigating the fire and death as a criminal incident. It is believed this was an isolated incident involving individuals known to one another, and there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the public.

Identification of the victim and cause of death is ongoing as the thorough and extensive investigation continues.
