UPDATE: Structure Fire and Death Investigation

Sterling, CO- June 16, 2025.


The Sterling Police Department (SPD) is providing an update on the investigation of the structure fire and death that occurred in the 300 block of Weston Ct.


Through the diligent efforts of SPD officers and detectives working around the clock, a suspect has been identified in connection with the fire and the death of a 38-year-old Sterling male that occurred in the 300 block of Weston Ct.. on June 12, 2025. The suspect, Brandon Thomas Harriman, age 28, of Sterling, Colorado, is currently wanted on an active warrant for First-Degree Murder and Arson.


If sighted, do not approach Harriman, and immediately contact 911 with the suspect’s location and any other details you may have. Harriman is described as 6’1”, 245lbs, Brown Hair, Brown Eyes, with possibly a short to medium length beard.


The Sterling Police Department, in collaboration with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI), continues to actively investigate this case. Authorities believe this to be an isolated incident involving those known to one another.
