On Wednesday, June 11th, the Wiggins Police Department received a call to a business in Wiggins to assist another agency. The organization known online as ‘Colorado Ped Patrol’ was contacting a person working in Wiggins, accusing them of Internet luring of a minor.
Chief Jim Parks responded after receiving the call. After contact with the Colorado Ped Patrol representative, they provided documentation indicating the previously stated offense. The Wiggins Police Department emphasizes that this case is still under active investigation.
To protect the integrity of the investigation and the privacy of those involved, no names or specific locations will be released at this time. The department acknowledges the strong emotional response such cases can evoke within the community. However, they urge all citizens to express themselves in a non-confrontational manner.
