Weldona man faces multiple charges after filing a false report in Cheyenne

A 63-year-old Colorado man is facing several charges after authorities say he made a false report of a stabbing in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Laramie County deputies and Cheyenne police responded to the area of College Drive and South Greeley Highway around 9 Friday morning, September 18^th.

After investigating, deputies determined that no stabbing had actually occurred.

Danny Hoff of Weldona, Colorado, was arrested and booked into the Laramie County Jail.

He faces charges of filing a false report, reckless endangerment, interference with a peace officer, and unlawful use of 9-1-1.

The Laramie County Sheriff’s Office says false emergency calls can pull first responders away from real emergencies and put officers and drivers at risk during rapid responses.

Hoff is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
