Yuma (Colorado) Police Department -
On July 29th, 62-year-old Clifton Clayton Boggess was arrested by the United States Marshals Service in Florida in connection to the disappearance of Britani Meek. The 25-year-old Yuma resident was initially reported missing on October 25th, 2023. The Yuma Police Department received a report at that time that she had gone to Denver to meet an unknown person. During the course of the investigation, the body of Ms.
Meek and her vehicle were located on a property in rural Yuma County.
After an extensive investigation, on July 24th of this year, a warrant was obtained for the arrest of Mr. Boggess on the following charges:
-1st Degree Murder a class 1 Felony
-Tampering with a deceased body a class 3 Felony
-Second Degree Kidnapping a class 4 Felony
-Second Degree Motor Vehicle Theft a class 4 Felony
-Assault in the 3rd Degree a class 1 Misdemeanor
Mr. Boggess is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. At this time, no other information will be released. The Yuma Police Department will continue to pursue any leads in this case. Recently the family of Britani Meek set up a memorial bench in honor of her memory at Yuma City Park.
