It was a packed room at The Block in Fort Morgan for the Morgan County Economic Development Corporation’s 2025 Annual Report & luncheon. Executive Director Kristen Clifford-Basil was the main speaker at the event, highlighting accomplishments from the past year and looking ahead to 2026.
2025 was a year when the MCEDC concentrated on strengthening its foundation and improving how work is delivered, measured, and scaled. Over the last year, they have implemented new software platforms, expanded the Roots76 program to include employee training, and renovated their new location at 118 West Railroad in Fort Morgan.
The MCEDC will be able to hit the ground running for the new year as they prepare to shift from planning to actively deploying & pursuing larger initiatives. In 2025, their assets grew modestly, the liabilities remained stable, and their overall financial position improved.
The Mav catered the lunch as awards were handed out to those who stood out in 2025. The large business of the year award went to Colorado Cold Connect – the small business of the year was Smirk’s. The Investor of the Year was awarded to AnywhereCam, and the Sage Award was given to the past President (of the MCEDC), Travis LeFever.
