SWAT Operation in Akron Closes Cedar for Hours

In a post on Facebook from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, they were working on a SWAT operation last night in the Town of Akron.
The operation took place in the 200 block of Cedar in Akron, starting between 3:00 and 4:00 pm on Thursday afternoon, as a reverse 9-1-1 call was issued to residents, advising them to avoid the area. There are no details available regarding exactly what the situation involved, but the Washington County Sheriff’s Office issued the all-clear around midnight, as it was no longer an active situation by that time.
Law enforcement remained on-scene for the investigation, but Cedar was reopened to the public. No other detail are being released currently.
