Sterling, CO – November 21 st , 2024
On November 21, 2024, at approximately 10:45 AM, officers from the Sterling Police Department responded to a disturbance in the 600 block of N. 3rd St., where a female was reported to have sustained multiple stab wounds. Upon arrival, officers located the female, who was promptly provided medical care on
scene and transported to Sterling Regional MedCenter for further care and is expected to survive.
Officers secured the area and contacted the alleged suspect, identified as 21-year-old Deangelo Molina of Sterling. As a result of the investigation, it was determined Mr. Molina, and the victim were known to each other.
Following a thorough investigation and the establishment of probable cause, Molina was arrested and booked into the Logan County Jail on the following charge:
Assault in the First Degree with a Deadly Weapon Causing SBI, Domestic Violence Related - a class 3 Felony
The investigation remains active, and detectives continue to gather evidence and assess all relevant information. Molina is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. At this time, the incident is
considered isolated and there is no ongoing public safety concerns associated with this crime.
