Sterling Police Department Investigate Robbery

-Chief Tyson Kerr, Sterling Police Department

On April 2, 2024, at approximately 11:10 p.m., Sterling Police officers responded to

a report of a robbery at the Bank of Colorado drive-up ATM machine, 131 W. Main

St.

An adult male victim reported he walked up to use the drive-up ATM, and two other

adult males were already there attempting to withdraw money. Apparently, they

were unable to and stepped aside to let the victim use the ATM. The victim was

successful in withdrawing money from his account. A physical disturbance ensued

over who the money belonged to, as the two other males argued that the money

was theirs. During the physical altercation, the victim was punched in the face and

was threatened with a knife. The victim was able to run away from the suspects

and call the police.

ultimately located the suspects taking them into custody.
