SCAM ALERT: Telephone scam, person claims to be from your local bank

There is another telephone scam to watch out for in Morgan County. In recent postings from the Morgan County Sheriff's Office as well as the Fort Morgan Police Department, they are warning residents NOT to give out any personal information over the phone. This time around, it appears the caller is asking for usernames & passwords for bank accounts.

Here's what the posting said from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office -

Our office has been made aware of telephone scam that is circulating around our county.  The caller is claiming to be from our local banks and claiming that your account information has been compromised. They request your username and password to your accounts. 

Please don’t share this personal information with anyone over the telephone or email.
