Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles - SCAM ALERT! A new round of scam text messages targeting Coloradans via text and claiming to be from the DMV are being sent out.
The DMV will not contact you for unpaid tolls. The only official DMV website is https://dmv.colorado.gov/. If you are unsure if a message is a scam, don't click any links and contact the DMV directly. Do not use any contact information in the messages.

*The Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) warned of a "sophisticated" new scam that is making the rounds across the state. We have received several reports locally over the past few days, as well.
Scammers are sending texts and emails impersonating the DMV, claiming recipients have unpaid tickets or unresolved driving violations. The messages often threaten suspension of vehicle registration, revocation of driving privileges or even criminal prosecution, and include links to websites designed to look like official state portals.
If you get one of these messages, do not click any links.
