Red Flag Warning For Northeast Colorado

*RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO 9 PM MDT THIS EVENING. Larimer, Weld, Douglas, Denver, Adams, Arapahoe, Broomfield, Elbert, Morgan, Lincoln, Logan, & Washington Counties. Winds will be out of the South at 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. Relative Humidity...As low as 8 percent.


*(Another) RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM MDT /NOON CDT/ THIS MORNING TO 8 PM MDT /9 PM CDT/ THIS EVENING. Yuma-Kit Carson-Cheyenne-Sherman-Thomas-Wallace-Logan-Greeley & Wichita Counties on the extreme eastern plains, and in the tri-state area. WINDS will be out of the South at 25 to 40 mph with gusts up to 55 mph. RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 10 percent. The strongest winds throughout the region will be in the afternoon hours.


Extreme and unpredictable fire behavior. Any fires that start is likely to spread rapidly. Avoid outdoor burning and activities that may create sparks. Outdoor burning is NOT advised today. Any fires that start are likely to grow and spread out of control.


A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are, or will be occurring. A combination of the strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
