The case against 63-year-old Clifton Boggess in the death of Britani Meek is headed to trial. That decision was made on Friday after a five-hour preliminary hearing before 13th Judicial District Judge Dina Christiansen in Yuma County District Court.
Boggess faces charges of first-degree murder, second-degree kidnapping, and tampering with a deceased body. Prosecutors called five expert witnesses to lay out evidence, convincing the judge to move the case forward.
An arraignment is set for October 7 at 1:30 p.m. in Wray. Dozens of Meek’s family members attended, wearing “Team Britani” shirts with the phrase “Forever 25” — her age when she died in late 2023.
If convicted, Boggess faces a lengthy prison sentence.
