Sterling FD –
On Wednesday, Feb. 14th, Station 1, Merino Volunteer Fire Department, Crook Fire Protection District, Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control Engine 3141, and other outside county agencies responded to mutual aid for Akron Volunteer Fire Department on a large residential structure fire. Crews assisted with attack operations and supplied additional water to help fight the fire that spread through the attic and had already caused a partial collapse of the roof. Multiple roof lines had caused fire to spread into hidden void spaces and made finding the fire difficult.
