It was a bumpy night on the extreme eastern plains of Northeast Colorado, as severe weather went through Yuma and Kit Carson Counties on Thursday evening.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for both counties for the 4 and 5 o’clock hours.

There were reports of 60 mph wind gusts, heavy rain, and 1-inch diameter hail. This affected the areas around Wray, Bonny Reservoir, Hale, and Idalia, mainly, with a concentration of elements around Highway 385 between MM 200 and 219.

There were no reports of any damage due to the late October storms, as they tracked east and moved out of Colorado by 6 pm.

Calmer conditions are expected throughout the region for the weekend, as a mild cold front has moved in. Temperatures will be mainly in the 60s and 70s over the next few days, with partly to mostly sunny skies.

Radio, the way it's meant to be.
