Iconic Ohio Farm Sells for $5.3 Million

The iconic Trealayne Holsteins Family Farm in eastern Ohio sold at live auction for $5,317,400. This generational property was well known for its registered dairy herd and quality operation. The farm was offered in eight parcels, ranging from 6.1–46.3 acres, and included a mix of excellent tillable farmland, wooded recreational land, and scenic country building sites. The property featured several farm buildings, including a 250x42-foot dairy barn, a 100x40-foot bank barn, and a 22x50-foot equipment shed, all in fair but usable condition. With easy access to Interstate 77 and state highways, with mineral rights included, the sale drew strong interest and marked the first time the property had been available in over 80 years.

The Weisenborn Farm, located in western Illinois, was sold at auction by Stone Farm of Wisconsin LLC for $1,624,330. The 60.47 surveyed acres were offered in two tracts, both featuring highly productive tillable farmland and excellent development potential. Tract 1, totaling 19.46 acres, sold for $35,000 per acre and is nearly 100% cropland, with a high PI of 135.7 (Class A). It features Mannon and Biggsville soils and is zoned M1-Enterprise Zone (Light Industrial), offering prime development potential with direct access from Ellington Road. 


Tract 2 encompasses 41.01 acres and sold for $23,000 per acre. It is also nearly 100% cropland, with a PI of 131.3 (Class B), featuring Biggsville, Mannon, and Stookey soils. Like Tract 1, it is zoned M1-Enterprise Zone and has access from Ellington Road, making it attractive for future development.


115.89 acres in Linn County, Iowa

Corn Suitability Rating Index (CSR2): 93.8


A premium farm located in eastern Iowa sold for $2,051,253. The farm includes 111.12 net taxable acres and is nearly all tillable, with an estimated 109.03 FSA-effective crop acres. It features highly productive Dinsdale, Klinger, and Tama soils, with a strong CSR2 rating, making it one of the top-quality farms in Linn County.
