Exciting news for the Fort Morgan Rotary Club over the weekend as the Rotary District 5450 conference was held on Saturday, September 28th in Denver. The Rotary Club of Fort Morgan won the ‘Preserve Planet Earth’ award for the ‘100 Tree Project’ from the rotary and the City of Fort Morgan.
The 2 entities partnered on the project, with the rotary providing the funds, and the city staff purchasing & planting the trees. Project Chair, Loren Boyett, and Carol Johnson both attended the conference this weekend. Trees were planted in several places including Optimist Park, Riverside Park, Fulton Park, Riverside Cemetery and more.
More trees are scheduled to be planted, as all monies for the project have been raised, with any additional funds to go toward even more trees. On top of the award, there will also be a book to come out called ‘110 Trees: Volume 3’. The book will be published by the local Heritage Foundation, and available for purchase in the future. The book will be a legacy project
