Fort Morgan Police Arrest Drug Dealer in Akron

The Fort Morgan Police Department has been doing an investigation involving 34-year-old Mario Diaz, of Akron since January of this year. Throughout the investigation, Diaz sold cocaine to operatives of the Fort Morgan Police Department on two separate occasions. Warrants for Diaz were obtained earlier last week, and they were served on Friday, March 28th in Akron.

The investigation into Diaz involved several hours of surveillance and other law enforcement tactics over the course of the past couple of months. Assisting in this investigation was the Brush Police Department, Morgan County Sheriff's Office, 13th Judicial District Attorney's Office, and the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

On Friday, March 28th, a Fort Morgan detective was able to locate Diaz at Akron High School, attending a track meet. The detective contacted the Washington County Sheriff's Office, and they assisted in the arrest of Diaz. He was held without bond at the Washington County Detention Center, pending advisement by a judge.
