NWS - A Fire Weather Watch remains in effect from 12 pm Tuesday afternoon through 9 pm (MDT) Tuesday evening for wind and low relative humidity for the plains of northeastern Colorado.

This includes Larimer, Boulder, Jefferson, Broomfield, Douglas, Adams, Arapahoe, Elbert, Weld, Morgan, Lincoln, Logan, Washington, Sedgwick, Phillips, Yuma, Kit Carson and Cheyenne counties in Colorado, as well as Cheyenne, Sherman and Wallace counties in Kansas.

  • WINDS...Southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40-50 mph.

  • RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 8-12 percent.

Conditions will be favorable for rapid fire spread. Avoid outdoor burning and any activity that may produce a spark and start a wildfire.

*A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible Red Flag Warnings.

There is a 20-40% chance of showers and thunderstorms across the same area for Monday afternoon; some of those storms could be severe. Stay tuned for the latest weather forecasts on the Media Logic Radio Network.
