Dead Cows Discovered in Logan County

Reports have come in of anywhere from 30 to 40 cows that were discovered dead on the side of the roadway along HWY 63 travelling north of I-76 to HWY 6, just south of Atwood in Logan County this morning. Most of the cows were found close to the railroad tracks. Details are a little vague, but in speaking with Lt. Austin from the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, he did confirm that it appears that a lot of these cattle were hit by the trains in the early morning hours of Thursday. (2/8/24) Reports are that the cattle may have escaped from a local feedlot, but as to which one, if any, hasn’t been confirmed.
