Fire crews and law enforcement responded to a crash on the westbound side of I-76 near MM 67, near Wiggins, on Wednesday night.
The scanner calls came in around 9:15 pm reporting that 2 vehicles were involved in the wreck, one of which was towing a trailer. Traffic flow on the interstate came to a halt as all lanes of the highway were blocked with vehicles and debris.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, so EMS crews could stand down. The highway DID have to be closed, however, due to the amount of cleanup needed, so CDOT shut down the roadway, as crews blocked off I-76 between Long Bridge Road and Highway 6, with traffic diverted to the frontage road.
The roadway was eventually cleared and reopened, with just mild delays for a brief time.
