The Colorado Department of Transportation and contracting partner Structure, Inc. will begin the repair of 13 timber bridges at various locations across several different counties. See the information below for specific bridge repair locations. The project will enhance safety for Colorado’s traveling public by reinforcing the aging bridges. The anticipated completion date of the project is late April. The construction work will begin at the Colorado Highway 52 bridges in Weld County then next move to US 138 north of Iliff in Logan County. The following is all structure repair locations:

The damaged timber girders on the bridge structures will be replaced with steel stringers which consist of a series of parallel steel beams that will support the bridge deck. Additional improvements will include upgraded guardrail, striping and rumble strip installation.
Daytime work hours range from sunup – sundown, Monday through Friday. 24/7 alternating lane closures may be possible. The speed limit will be reduced in the work zone to 40 mph. 11 ft width restrictions will vary depending on the location. Construction trucks entering and exiting the work zone. The work schedule is weather dependent and subject to change.
