Brush Police: Vehicle contact leads to seizure of illicit firearms and narcotics in Morgan County

PRESS RELEASE - Brush Police Department - On Friday, January 30, 2026, officer with the Brush Police Department, Morgan County Sheriff's Office contacted a vehicle driven by Steven Hodge for traffic violations in the Brush area.
Upon further investigation, Fort Morgan Police Department's K9 alerted to narcotics which were located in the vehicle and Hodge was placed under arrest. Additional investigation led to a search warrant being conducted at a residence in Morgan County.
With the assistance of the Morgan County Sheriff's Office, the Fort Morgan Police Department, the Logan County Sheriff's Office, the 13th Judicial District Attorney's Office, and the Northeast Regional SWAT Team, the search warrant resulted in the seizure of several illicit firearms and a large quantity of narcotics to include methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl pills.
The investigation is ongoing and additional details will be released when appropriate.
