Authorities Dispatched to Semi-Truck in Irrigation Ditch

Sterling Fire Department- January 21, 2025,

Just after 10am Station 1, Logan County Sheriff's Office and Colorado State Patrol were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident near County Road 29 on Highway 14. The semi pulling an empty cattle pot left the highway and ended up in an irrigation ditch. First arriving units were able to make verbal contact with the driver who was not injured, but due to the water was unable to get out of the truck. Crews used ladders to access the cab, and help safely remove the driver and his dog. Crews remained on-scene to standby as Little Tornado Recovery removed the semi from the ditch.
