In Fort Morgan, a months-long investigation into online child exploitation has led to a conviction and a decade-long sentence of intensive probation.

Back in mid-January, the Fort Morgan Police Department’s Detective Division received two cyber tips reporting possible child sexual abuse material linked to the same IP address in the area. The reports pointed to at least 86 illegal images and videos.

Within a week, detectives obtained and executed a search warrant at a local residence, seizing several electronic devices capable of accessing the material.

During the forensic review, investigators uncovered more than 500 links—most of them videos—depicting the sexual abuse of very young children.

33-year-old Corey Stacy was arrested and later charged with Sexual Exploitation of a Child.

On June 26, 2025, Stacy pleaded guilty, and on October 9, he was sentenced to 10 years of Sex Offender Intensive Probation.

Police say the case highlights the importance of national cyber tip programs and continued cooperation between local law enforcement and internet crime task forces to protect children from online predators.
