Thyne traded in his Mitchell (NE) Tigers uniforms after his freshman year for Sterling Tigers black and orange the last 3. Ethan led the Sterling Tigers boy's basketball team to their first playoff win since 2022. In December, he joined the 1,000-point club in a win against Platte Valley. He has also competed for Sterling Tigers golf, track and field and this spring finishes his high school athletics career with his first season on baseball in more than 6 years.
