Soybean, Grain Futures Higher. Ethanol Blend Rate Tops 11% in October. Rain for Parts of the Southern Plains.

The USDA recently announced payment rates for row crops eligible for the Farmer Bridge Assistance (FBA) program. Acres planted to corn, soybeans, wheat, and 16 other eligible commodities should expect to receive FBA payments by the end of February.

A very warm and dry December has left the state’s snowpack well below normal. More than 100 sensors measure snowpack across Colorado, and they’re showing reason for concern. The worst hit area is the Upper Arkansas Basin, which is only at 49% of its normal snowpack. Northern Colorado stands at around 60%.

Polis says the state will come in about $308 million below the Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights spending cap, meaning Coloradans will not receive TABOR refunds in 2026.
