On Tuesday, December 16, 2025, the Fort Morgan City Council approved a bid request submitted by SMH West, LLC, based in Castle Rock, Colorado, authorizing the company to proceed with construction on the 2025 Ensign Street Storm Sewer Improvement project.

Sterling Fire Department - Just before 3 am on Christmas morning Sterling Station 1 and deputies from the Logan County Sheriff's Office were alerted to a structure fire in Iliff. On arrival Fire 1 reported a two-car detached garage with heavy fire throughout threatening multiple exposures. The first arriving engine deployed multiple attack lines to protect exposures and control the fire. Crews remained on-scene working to overhaul the building and its contents.

Crews across Northeast Colorado are working to restore power, fix damaged poles, and control conditions to prevent any more fires or damage as high winds continuie across the region.

From the Yuma County Sheriff's Office, as of Thursday evening, the 33 Fire in Yuma County, CO, south of Eckley is now 100% contained, and everyone is good to no longer be on high alert for this fire.
