Yuma Sheriff Apprehends Serious Assault Suspect

Yuma County Sheriff’s Office / Sheriff Todd Combs – The Yuma County Sheriff's Office apprehended a suspect over the weekend, with the help of multiple agencies.

At about 5:45 am on Saturday, September 13^th, the agency was alerted to a serious assault. After the immediate investigation, the suspect was identified by deputies, as the regional SPEAR Team was activated, due to the severity of the assault. The whereabouts of the suspect were unknown at first, so a search was warranted.

There was a coordinated effort involving several agencies, including the Holyoke Police Department, WY Communications, Wray EMS, the Yuma Police Department, along with the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office. The suspect was eventually located inside a vehicle in Yuma County, and the male suspect was taken into custody.

The name of the suspect was not released, but he was booked into the Washington County Jail for Attempted First Degree Murder along with a few other serious charges.
