On Thursday, January 22nd, the United Way of Morgan County held a Town Hall meeting at the Gene Doty Senior Center in Fort Morgan, with the topic of Affordable Housing. 70 members of the community showed up for the event, with questions and comments about home affordability in Fort Morgan, and elsewhere.
The Executive Director of the United Way of Morgan County, Sue Boyett, provided the results of an activity that all participated in that evening. The group discussed housing costs in relation to other household budget items. It was a ‘Money’ voting activity, as 65 of the people who attended were given $500 in mock money to place in jars labeled with the budget items. You were allowed to divide up the money into $100 increments any way you liked.
The comments and questions from the January 22nd meeting will be addressed at the next Town Hall meeting, scheduled for Thursday, April 16, 2026, at the Fort Morgan Field House. For more information, contact Sue Boyett at the United Way Office in Fort Morgan at 970-867-2218 ext. 1.
