Trashy situation in Weld County as several trash bags full of hundreds of pounds of marijuana dumped on Weld County Road 6

The Weld County Sheriff's Office recently responded to a property owner's call to investigate several trash bags filled with something that had been dumped on a county road in front of his residence. What they found wasn't garbage, but it will be disposed of properly nonetheless.

PRESS RELEASE: Weld County Sheriff’s Office - Trash bags of suspected marijuana found on Weld County Road 6 -
[Weld County, CO] In August 2025, we shared on our social media WCSO patrol reported finding several bags of suspected marijuana near Weld County Road 20 and Colorado Boulevard. More bags have recently been discovered.
On February 13, just after 3:30 P.M. WCSO patrol responded to a suspicious incident in the 15000-block of Weld County Road 6. The reporter advised several trash bags were dumped in front of his property.
Upon arrival, deputies located the trash bags, opened them, and discovered suspected marijuana leaves. The reporter advised there were more trash bags of a similar nature to the west of the location. Deputies drove Weld County Road 6 to look for the bags and found approximately six more trash bags containing suspected marijuana leaves.
The leaves were left in a secure area to dry. After this, they were bagged, weighed, and booked into evidence and are set for destruction. The total weight was 427 pounds.
