Colorado State Patrol -

On Thursday, April 24th, at about 12:30 am, Troopers responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on a Morgan County Road near Hazel Street near Brush, Colorado.  Local police and troopers on scene found a gray Mercedes C300 had rolled into a ditch next to the county road. The vehicle was filled with water. The 34-year-old female driver and a three-year-old female passenger were able to get out of the vehicle and sustained only minor injuries.  A one-year-old female passenger in a car seat was unable to get out of the vehicle before becoming fully submerged. A brush police officer removed the child from the vehicle. She was transported to an area hospital and later pronounced dead.

The Colorado State Patrol Vehicular Crimes Unit is still investigating this crash. Identities of the involved parties are withheld during an active investigation, and the identity of the deceased will be released by the coroner after appropriate notifications have been made.
