*SCAM ALERT If you have received the following photo or one similar, this is a scam, and not an official document. Do not scan the QR code or give away any personal/payment information.
The Colorado State Patrol, along with all of law enforcement, is warning people about this new scam. A photo of what looks like an official document from the State of Colorado, Denver County Traffic Division, is just the latest scam trying to get people to pay for false fines and fees.
The top of the fake document reads: 'State of Colorado - In the District Court of Colorado - For Denver County - Traffic Division - Final Enforcement Notice-Court Ordered Compliance Required'.
As the alert states, do not scan the QR code or give away any personal/payment information, as the state or any government agencies will not contact you in this manner.
