The City of Fort Morgan is accepting applications from residents interested in filling a vacant seat on the City Council. The Ward 1 seat represents most of the western portion of the city. Applications are available at City Hall, at 110 Main Street in Fort Morgan, or on the City’s website, at cityoffortmorgan.com, and will be accepted until April 15th, at 5 pm. The Fort Morgan City Council hopes to appoint a new council member at the April 21, 2026, city council regular meeting.
The Ward 1 seat became vacant with the recent resignation of former Councilmember Jeff Morford. The person selected by the council to fill the seat will serve only for the remainder of Morford’s unexpired term, which runs out in early January 2028.
There are more details to this as the person chosen will serve on the council until the next regular municipal election in November 2027. For more information, contact City Clerk Jill Curtis at 970-542-3962 or jill.curtis@cityoffortmorgan.com.
