In a recent press release from the Pro-15 Board of Directors, there were two big announcements. The first is that the fall conference, which was scheduled for October 16-17, has been canceled.

The second announcement is that the Executive Director of Pro-15 has announced her retirement, effective November 15th.

Cathy Shull has dedicated over 20 years to serving as the Pro-15 Executive Director, and as the release stated, while this marks the end of a remarkable chapter, the organization remains committed to its mission and looks forward to building on the strong foundation Cathy has laid.

There is a slew of kind words for the outgoing executive director, including from Melanie Worley, Chairwoman of the Pro-15Board of Directors. “From building strategic partnerships, to being a strong advocate and resource for businesses large and small, navigating uncertainties during a pandemic and amplifying the needs of rural Colorado through policy development, Cathy has shaped Pro-15 and the communities it serves in lasting and profound ways.”

Other praise came from former Logan County Commissioner Jerry Sonnenberg, Wes Parham, Vice President of Public Affairs at Pinnacol Assurance, Tony Milo, CEO of Colorado Contractors Association, and Heidi Williams, President and CEO of Civic Results and the Executive Director of Metro Mayors.

This year’s conference was canceled due to the transition. In the coming weeks, the Board of Directors will start its search for a new executive.
