Murder trial for Meek to be continued

The murder trial of the main suspect in the death of Yuma resident Britani Meek has been continued to a new date, which will be selected by Thursday, May 28. Jury selection started on Monday, May 11, for 63-year-old Clifton Clayton Boggess Jr. in Yuma County District Court in Wray. According to District Attorney Travis Sides, there is newly discovered evidence that has surfaced, thus causing the continuation, as an entire new jury pool will be necessary.
25-year-old Meek was initially reported missing on October 25, 2023. The vehicle that belonged to Meek was discovered in rural Yuma County on November 16th of that year, and her body was found on November 22nd.
An arrest warrant was obtained on July 24, 2024 for Boggess, who was arrested by United States Marshals in Lake Placid, Florida. Boggess faced multiple charges including 1st Degree Murder, Tampering with a deceased body, Second Degree Kidnapping, Second Degree Motor Vehicle Theft, and Assault in the 3rd Degree.
The original trial dates were between May 11 and June 1. This is a developing story.
