There were many events throughout Northeast Colorado on Veterans Day to honor those men and women who have served our nation and are still with us to thank. At the Morgan Community College (MCC) Fort Morgan Campus, there was a ceremony to honor our vets, in the Veterans Plaza on the Fort Morgan campus. Flags from all branches of the United States military were represented: Marines, Navy, Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, and Space Force. On a breezy Northeast Colorado morning, MCC President Dr. Curt Freed opened the ceremony by thanking those that have served, mentioning how our nation is what it is today, in all the great ways, because of those that served their nation before themselves. Brian Uhrich, Veteran Administration Regional Representative and George O'Clair, Navy Veteran and the head of the Electromechanical Technology Facility also spoke a few good words for the small crowd that gathered. U.S. Army Veteran and MCC Director of Concurrent Enrollment closed out the event with an incredible rendition of Taps. Afterwords, there was a reception in the Founders Room with chili and cinnamon rolls provided by Drovers Restaurant and the MCC Roadrunner Cafe.
