The final week of September is a busy one for the Sterling Tigers.

We start with softball, who enters the week 12-5-1, 5-3, and at number 3 in the 3A selection index with just 5 games left to play. If the Tigers stay in the top-8 over the next two weeks they will play at home for Regional weekend. The Tigers host Limon on Monday in the final non-league matchup of the regular season. Softball hosts Berthoud on Thursday and finishes their week at Platte Valley Saturday morning.

Volleyball begins the new week at 7-3 overall, and 4-2 in Patriot League play. The Tigers host Valley on Tuesday night. Sterling opened the season with a 5-set win over the Vikings in Gilcrest in a match that did not count towards the league standings. The Tigers travel to Mead on Thursday for an early 5 p.m. start.

Boys Soccer seeks its first official win of the season. The Tigers are 0-5, coming off their league opening loss to Frontier Academy 10-0. Sterling hosts perennial power Liberty Common on Thursday at the new Plainsmen Park.

Finally, Sterling football looks to bounce back from two straight losses to finish non-conference play at 1-3 for a second year in a row. The Tigers look to spoil Weld Central's Homecoming game on Friday night in Keenesburg.
