KRDZ Sports Update 11/16/23

Seventh seeded Wray Football took down the 2nd seeded Holyoke Dragons 41-35 last Saturday. It was a close 1st half, with the game tied at 14 as Wray punched Holyoke in the mouth in the 3rd quarter, outscoring the Dragons 21-0 while forcing 2 turnovers to go into the 4th with a 35-14 lead. Holyoke made a furious comeback effort, but Wray was able to keep them at arms length for the remainder of the game to secure the upset win. Samuel Meisner rushed for 204 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Casey Midcap rushed for 116 yards and 2 touchdowns and also completed 5 of 10 passes for 2 more touchdowns to Aaron Tena. Wray Football will advance to the state semifinals for the 4th year in a row, and will take on 6th seeded Strasburg on the road on Saturday at 1pm
