KRDZ Sports Update 11/06/23

Wray Football dominated Centauri 59-27 in the first round of the playoffs. The Eagles led 33-13 at the end of the 1st quarter and ballooned that lead to 59-13 at halftime to play the full second half with a running clock. Casey Midcap completed 12 of 17 passes for 167 yards and 2 touchdown passes to Aaron Tena, while also rushing for 2 more touchdowns. Samuel Meisner also ran for 122 yards and 4 touchdowns. Wray Football will take on Holyoke in the state quarterfinals on the road on Saturday at 1.

Wray Volleyball saw their season come to an end on Saturday in the regional tournament, falling to Strasburg and Rangely 3-1 each. The Lady Eagles played every single set very close, and fought hard until the very end. The Lady Eagles finish the season with a 9-16 record, with that regional tournament being their first one since 2018. Congratulations to the girls for a great season, never giving up and making a late season push to qualify for the regional.
