KRDZ Sports Update 04/15/24

Wray Baseball was swept in their doubleheader on Saturday against Burlington, 6-5 and 7-4. In game 1, the Eagles got their bats working early before Burlington tied the game 3-3 late as Wray scored 2 in the 7th to take a 5-3 advantage, but couldn't shut the door as Burlington walked it off with 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th. In game 2, it was another low scoring affair before Burlington broke through with 4 runs in the 6th inning. Wray Baseball will take on Yuma tomorrow afternoon at home.


Wray Track was in the Greeley Twilight meet on Friday, with the girls finishing in 3rd and the boys finishing in 5th. For the girls, Faith Ridnour finished 4th in the 200 meter, Isabelle Gillham finished 4th in the 400 meter, Addi Jones finished 1st in the 1600 meter and 5th in the 400 meter, Ella Deyle finished 5th in the 1600 meter, Makenna Kline finished 4th in the 100 meter hurdles and 5th in the 300 meter hurdles, Sharon Greek finished 4th in triple jump and 2nd in high jump, Sydnee Cheek finished 3rd in pole vault, and Makynna DeLand finished 1st is shot put and 3rd in discus. For the boys, Aaron Tena finished 1st in the 110 meter hurdles and 300 meter hurdles, Brody Stults finished 4th in triple jump, Austin Hendrix finished 5th in triple jump, and Reegan Shay finished 4th in pole vault. Wray Track will host the Dick Evans invite on Thursday.


Wray Girls Golf will be in a tournament in Sterling today, tee off is at 9am.
