Wray Baseball was swept in their doubleheader in Akron on Friday, 14-0 in 5 innings and 3-1. In game 1, Wray's pitchers struggled as they issued 16 walks to just 4 hits, while offensively the Eagles did not pick up a hit against great Akron pitching. In game 2, it was a pitcher's duel, with Wray losing despite a no-hit gem from Rydge Peterson, who struck out 9 batters and walked just 2, as all 3 Akron runs were scored on 4 Wray errors. Wray Baseball will take on Caliche at home tomorrow.
Wray Track competed in their first meet on Saturday in Yuma, with the girls finishing in 1st and the boys in 5th. For the girls, Faith Ridnour finished in 3rd for the 200 meter, Addi Jones finished in 2nd in the 800 meter and 1600 meter, Makenna Kline finished in 1st in the 100 meter hurdles and in the 300 meter hurdles, Brylee Meisner finished in 2nd in the 100 meter hurdles, Jamie Sharp finished 3rd in 100 meter hurdles, Sharon Greek finished 3rd in high jump, and Makynna DeLand finished 1st in Shot Put. For the boys, Aaron Tena finished 1st for the 300 meter hurdles. Wray Track will be in their next meet on Saturday at University.
Wray Girls Golf will be in their first tournament tomorrow at Holyoke, tee-off is at 10am.
